Program

This workshop focuses on all aspects of solving and refining magnetic structures from neutron diffraction data with Jana2020. The workshop covers both commensurate and incommensurate magnetic structures with one or more propagation vectors, explains magnetic space and superspace symmetries, demonstrates the possibilities of representation analysis in Jana2020, and explains the application of the online ISODISTORT tool.

The workshop is designed to include lectures followed by a hands-on session, during which participants can work on selected examples from the Jana cookbook using their laptops.

Lecturers: Prof. Manuel Perez-Mato (Bilbao), Václav Petříček, Margarida Henriques, Michal Dušek

If there are not enough participants for June 2026, the workshop will be rescheduled for Autumn 2027.

Additional information

Online participation is not possible.

Lunches and coffee breaks are paid by the Department of Structure Analysis.

The workshop is organized by the Department of Structure Analysis at the Institute of Physics, the ECA Special Interest Groups on Aperiodic Crystals (SIG3), and the ECA Special Interest Group on Magnetic Crystallography (SIG16)
