Program
(Detailed program will appear here)
This workshop covers selected advanced topics of Jana2006. Examples will be taken for
both single crystal and powder data and they will be mostly based on x-ray diffraction. However,
we will also include an example based on electron diffraction data. Magnetic structures
refined from neutron diffraction will be topic of the next workskop 1-2 December 2014.
The workshops are only separated by a weekend in order to faciliate visiting both of them.
Topics:
1) Brief introduction to modulated structures
2) Data processing of modulated structures
3) Application of rigid body and local symmetry
4) Incommensurate versus commensurate refinement
5) Discontinuous (crenel) modulation functions
6) Five-dimensional structures
7) Structure analysis from electron diffraction data

The examples also cover merohedric twinning and
solving structures by charge flipping.
Schedule:
Each day the workshop starts at 9:00 am and finishes at 18:00 pm
Lecturers:
Vaclav Petricek, Michal Dusek
For this workshop some preliminary experience with Jana2006 is expected.
Computers
Each participant should bring a laptop with operating
system Windows2000/XP/Vista/Windows7/Windows8, with Administration rights.
Installation of all necessary
software will be done at the beginning of the workshop.
Wireless internet connection including Eduroam is available
at the lecture room. Limited number of computers can be
provided to people without laptop (please inform us before
the workshop that this would be needed)
Workshop cookbook
Workshop cookbook cumulates examples from all Jana workshops. The latest
version together with example files and installations files is available
in jana page:
cookbook.zip (~ 50MB).
